Great News

My day got off to a bad start from the moment I woke up and had to force myself out from underneath the cosy duvet.

Firstly, I rolled out of bed and discovered that the hot water hadn’t come on which left me little choice but to boil a kettle and have a stand up wash. This was not so bad, unfortunately my hair was greasier than a kebab...I resorted to dousing my locks in translucent powder to conceal the offending dirt in the hope of making it look half decent (it has sort of worked…).

Secondly, I missed my train to work by 30 seconds and subsequently had to wait 25 mins for the next one. My own fault but annoying nonetheless.

Thirdly, I’ve had the Monday blues all day.

All in not a good start to the month but I’ve just read this and am absolutely delighted for my fellow Novel Racer, Calistro over at Writing About Writing, who has herself an agent after months of tense waiting. I’m beside myself with excitement for her!

All memories of chilly water, missed trains and work blues evaporated instantly. I can’t imagine how Cally is feeling right now but it’s thrilling to think that all her hard work is going to pay off.

It’s certainly spurred me on and inspired me to plough on with my own WIP and on that note I'd better be off - I've got work to do and hair to wash.

Thanks CC! Glad it made your day a bit better. I feel really touched that my news is inspiring people when I've been inspired by Caroline, Lucy, Kate, Clare etc. Fingers crossed the bubble doesn't burst!
